Definition:
The Paleo diet is a diet which restricts your eating habits to foods which could be found in the wild prior to the developement of agriculture in 10 000 BC.
It is called a modern cavemen diet and it is a diet which will limit your intake of carbohydrates and boost your daily meat (protein intake), in the diet you can eat anything you could find n the wild 10 000 years ago and that you could have prepared. The diet is a diet which calls for a lot of dedication and is only affective when stricktly applied, this diet as some gross parts to it as is nothing for vegetarians and will involve you eating every single part of an animal including the organs. You will live of animals and things you can find in the wild and those will not always be prepared like we are used to. It is very green diet and if excecuted properly very hard to keep up because of our modern day food industries

Foods that can/can't be eaten

If you choose to follow the paleo diet these are the foods you will and the ones you won't be eating

Foods you can eat: Foods you can't eat:

Meat Grains
Fish Dairy products
Vegetables Legumes
Fruits Salt
Roots Refined sugars
Nuts Processed oil

The Paleo way is more of a path you can follow then a diet according to people who have undertaken this diet

Why do people follow this diet?

The reason people follow the Paleo diet is because of 2 different reasons.

Reason 1:

The Paleo diet will completely eliminate your dairy and grain in take, many of the people who follow this diet are people who are trying to cut back on their carbohydrate intake and built up muscles threw their elevated protein intake. Athletes will take on a paleo diet to train for events, altough experts say this diet is a fraud and it is ranked in the 20 lowest it is very effective when trying to build up body mass and reducing body fat as the diet eliminates all of the greecy oils and transfats you would usually eat every day.

Reason 2:

With our growing industrialisation of the food markets more and more of our foods in the supermarket are no longer organic they are all changed from the vegetables to the Meat, the movie "Food Inc" gives a good inside on this, a Paleo diet is chosen by a lot of protestors who want an organic diet that defies our modern day food industry. It has been established that a the diet is the foundation of a healthier way of eating. Many of the people with this diet do it because of these personal beleives that organic is the future and we can't go on like we are right now.

Benefits and constraint:

Benefits:

Their are plenty of Benefits to the paleo diet, your high intake of Meat, fish, poultry ect will increase your body mass and will eliminate fat and help you build up muscle. The diet involves eating things you could find in the wild like roots, nuts and fruit so you will get a lot more vitamins then you usually would keeping you healthier. Another Benefit is that the diet will forbid you to eat any sort of food high in transfats and oils like fast food and will help you loose weight very quickly, that is if you follow it exactly right.

Constraints:

As the Paleo diet involves you eating foods that could have been eaten 10 000 years ago by a cavemen, it is not always easy to find those products in the supermarket or even in the wild as many of us either do not know how to find food in the wild or how to pick out the foods in the supermarket that did excist back then. Supermarkets and the food industry alter our foods in more ways then one and it would be nearly impossible to find a product in the supermarket that has not been changed to fit the demands of us.

Sweet

Ingredients

Coconut Milk
Rasberries
Strawberries
Blueberries
Raw eggs

Preparation

  1. Start with a base of coconut milk, I usually use a whole can.
  2. Add plenty of any fruit you’d like. I like to use frozen berries. I use either mixed berries, strawberries, blackberries or even cranberries, which give a very tangy taste to my smoothie. The berries add lots of great color to the smoothie and provide lots of beneficial antioxidants.
  3. Add one or two whole raw eggs. I wouldn’t worry about having them raw especially if you use free range, naturally fed and organic eggs. The taste will not bother you either, it passes completely under the radar, I just put in the eggs for extra proteins and fat.
  4. Optionally add one or two spoonfuls of your favorite nut butter. The taste will be really subtle in your final smoothie, but it will still be there as a nice aftertaste.
  5. I like to put in a good dose or pure vanilla extract to finish this flavor explosion.
